The real adventure begins! After stocking up on food and essentials at Walmart in Bozeman, we hit the scenic route toward West Yellowstone — with rivers flowing beside the road... and mountains rising in the distance. Along the way, we stopped to soak in the views and took a break at Big Sky for a quick bite before continuing the journey.
By afternoon, we reached West Yellowstone. Our first stop: the Visitor Center, where we gathered park information and purchased our entry pass ($35 for a 7-day permit — annual passes are also available for frequent travelers). Then came a milestone moment — a photo at the famous Yellowstone National Park sign right before the West Entrance!
Crossing into Yellowstone for the very first time was pure magic. The journey led us to Fountain Paint Pots, our introduction to the park’s geothermal wonders. From steaming fumaroles to bubbling mud pots, hissing vents, and colorful hot springs — this spot gives you a taste of everything Yellowstone is about. In the next episodes, we’ll witness the extreme and breathtaking versions of these wonders.
