A family decides to return to their ancestral palace located in a village to sell the palace to a man named Ayyanar. During their stay, supernatural events take place, and their servants disappear. One member of the family, Madhavi, gets... possessed by the ghost of Selvi, a girl from the village who was murdered by Ayyanar and his accomplices. Selvi had discovered that Ayyanar and his accomplices had stolen jewels from a temple and had murdered Selvi to hide the evidence.
Selvi’s ghost enters the body of Madhavi to take revenge on the culprits and to meet her lover, Murali. Ravi, the brother of Madhavi, tries to figure out the mystery and finds out the tragic story of Selvi. With the help of a priest, Ravi performs a ritual by the river to liberate Madhavi from the ghost. The ritual is successful, and the ghost disappears from the body of Madhavi. Madhavi is united with her lover Murali, and the family decides to move on. However, the story ends on a tragic note as a ghost appears at the window of the palace.
