Prem falls in love with Preethi, who he sees singing from his terrace. Sneha, Preethi's friend, plays mediator. In the process, there's a twisted triangle between the three.
With Yogaraj Bhat foraying into distribution with this project, there was quite some curiosity regarding this film. Directed by Kumar Datt, Eradondla Mooru was marketed as a clean entertainer for the youngsters and family. But, after watching the film, we wonder why a maker like Yogaraj would invest in such a film. For, like the title, this film seems to be a gross miscalculation.
The film seems great on paper. The director seems to have a lot of interesting symbolisms going on, what with his characters being called Preethi, Prem and Sneha and the confusions between Prem and Sneha. It touches upon the common misunderstandings between the symbolic love and friendship.
But, on film, it is nearly half an hour too long and over 100 dialogues too much. We love punch dialogues, Yogaraj and SuNi have proved that with their films. But, not everyone talks only with them. The makers could have spared us with a few lines in normal Kannada.
Shwetha Pandit, who plays Sneha, has been visibly excited about this role and rightly so. But, poor execution has let her good performance down. Chandan has good screen presence, but he does need to brush up on his acting skills. Cute mannerisms make not great acting. Shobhita's role is limited. The role that unknowingly works is KS Sridhar's, who plays Sneha's guruji in the film. This guide mouths dialogues that seemingly connect with the dilemma of the audience, who keep wondering what's happening in the film. Mithra's comedy track could have been cut out, for it is rather unfunny.
Watch this film only if you are a fan of TV stars Chandan or Shwetha, else, pick up Mungaaru Male, Pancharangi or Simplag Ondu Love Story and watch it again at home.
