S. Manivannan Rajagopal (31 July 1953 – 15 June 2013), better known by his stage name Manivannan, was an Indian film actor, director and Tamil activist. In a career spanning three decades, he went from being a story and dialogue writer for director Bharathiraja from 1980–82 to a successful director who thrived in experimenting with different genres, before becoming an actor.[3] With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and has directed exact 50 films.[4] Manivannan was mainly a supporting actor in films and often played the comedian or the villain's role.[3]

During his lifetime, he supported various political parties, including the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He later became affiliated with the Naam Tamilar Katchi and had long supported its ideology of Sri Lankan Tamil nationalism.

Nizhalgal Ravi (born 16 April 1956) is an Indian actor who has performed in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He mostly uses Tamil as his major mother tongue language. He started his career in 1980 with the film Nizhalgal.[1][2] He has acted in 500 films.[3]

Nizhalgal Ravi, an actor in South Indian film industry, started his career under the baton of veteran director Bharathiraja in the Tamil film Nizhalgal which fetched him his sobriquet. He played the role of an aspiring hero who falls in love, a performance which brought him his greatest success,[citation needed] although he has not become a top hero. He has had many character roles including films Vedam Puthithu, Nayakan, Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi, Annamalai, Marupadiyam, Aasai, and more. He portrayed roles such as those of a kind-hearted father, a ruthless villain, or a back-stabber. He dubbed for Amitabh Bachchan for the program Kaun Banega Crorepati in Tamil. He acted in more than 25 movies in Malayalam during the 80s. He was born as Ravichandran to Shyamanna and D. Rajammal in an orthodox family. He did his B.A. in Economics in P.S.G. Arts, Coimbatore. He acted in director K. Balachander's telefilm Rayil Sneham, which became a hit in the late 80s and early 90s. He also acted in Nayagan.

Josephine, better known by her screen name Rekha (born August 28, 1970), is a Malayalam and Tamil actress who has acted in hit movies like Ramji Rao Speaking, and Aey Auto in Malayalam and, Punnagai Mannan, En Bommukutty Ammavukku and Kadalora Kavithaigal in Tamil.[2] She was born in Kerala and completed her studies at Ooty in Tamil Nadu.[3] She now works in TV, mostly in serials, and does occasional supporting roles in films.[4] She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam for the film Dasharatham.
